DIY: SHEA & HONEY STYLER

CONDITIONING & MOISTURIZING BASE:

  • 1/4 C. Raw Shea Butter

To ensure that you get the maximum amount of the moisturizing properties out of your Shea Butter, make sure that you use Unrefined Shea butter. There is a difference. Click here to see. Located at the bottom of the page in link.

CURL ACTIVATING & MOISTURIZING BASE:

  • 2 tsp. Raw Organic Honey
  • 2 Tbsp Aloe Vera Gel

MOISTURIZING BASE:

  • 2 Tbsp. Extra Virgin Cold-Pressed Olive Oil
  • 2 Tbsp. Extra Virgin Unrefined Coconut Oil

Directions:

METHOD 1

Melt the Shea Butter on the stove-top until melted. CAREFUL! DO NOT BOIL THE SHEA BUTTER!

Place the Melted Shea Butter in the freezer for about 15 min. or until it is firm but nor solid. After taking the Shea Butter out of the freezer, whip the shea butter with the Olive, Coconut, Honey, & Aloe Vera Gel together until smooth and creamy.

Because the Aloe Vera may go bad, try to have this mixture stored in the refrigerator to prolong its shelf life. It may last up to 2 to 3 weeks. Depending on how you store it.

METHOD 2

In a bowl, add in the shea butter, honey, aloe vera gel, olive oil, and coconut oil. Whip together for about 2-3 minuted or until very smooth and creamy. To make this mixture very smooth, continue to whip for another 2-3 minutes until frothy.
