DIY: SHEA & HONEY DEEP CONDITIONER

I created this recipe yesterday (November 3, 2013), after i shampooing my hair for my weekly hair regimen.  I was trying to figure out what i was going to use this week for my dc (deep conditioner).  So while looking through my slew of natural/organic hair products I came up with this:

SHEA & HONEY DEEP CONDITIONER

Conditioning Base:

YOU MAY HAVE TO ADJUST THE MEASUREMENTS DEPENDING ON YOUR HAIR LENGTHS. THIS IS JUST BASIC MEASUREMENTS.

  • 1/4 c. Shea Moisture Raw Shea Butter Restorative Conditioner

Alternative:

  • 1/4 c. Raw Shea Butter
Make sure that your base conditioner is a shea butter base product and that it is natural/organic. shea butter base means that the product is around 90% shea butter. Or just use 100% Raw Shea Butter. I did not have any.

Moisturizing Base:

  • 2 tsp. Very Raw, Unfiltered, Organic Honey (or just use Raw Honey)

Moisturizing & Sealing:

  • 1 Tbsp. 100% Cold-Pressed Macadamia Oil
  • 1 Tbsp. Extra Virgin Cold-Pressed Olive Oil (infused with rosemary & sage)
You can use any moisturizing oil of your choice such as Coconut. My choice of oils are optional, just replace them with your favorite moisturizing oil of your choice.

Directions:

In a small disposable bowl (I got mines from my local store in the deli isle), mix all the ingredients until very smooth. Apply to hair and evenly distribute from roots to ends. Apply a plastic cap; let it sit in your hair for 30 min or sit under dryer for 30-45 min or longer depending on your deep conditioning routine.

Rinse Hair in cool water to seal in all that moisture. Make sure that your water is not “cold” but that it is between warm to cold, which is cool. Style hair as desired.
