- 4 ounces of Raw Shea Butter
- 1/2 cup of Virgin Coconut Oil
- 1 tablespoon of Castor Oil
- 2 tablespoons of Vegetable Glycerin
Start by adding the hardened Shea butter and coconut oil to the mixing bowl, and turn the mixer on to level eight or high. Hold the bowl in place with you hand until the Shea butter is softened and starting to blend in with the coconut oil. Once the mix gets to a creamy consistency after about 4- 5 minutes of blending, add the castor oil, and mix for a few minutes. Use the icing spatula to scrape the sides of the bowl as you mix, to prevent missing any small chunks of Shea butter in the mix. Then add the two tablespoons of vegetable glycerin to the bowl and mix until it’s completely blended in.
An optional ingredient is adding a few drops of your favorite essential oils to give your DIY Whipped Shea Butter a natural scent.
