1005022452Did you know that eggs were a good source of protein for your hair? If your hair seems dull and lifeless, and you haven’t been able to find a protein treatment that works for you… make your own. Eggs are rich in protein, fatty acids, and vitamins which work together to make hair stronger and shinier.


To make your own protein treatment mix:

  • One egg
  • 1/4 cup of mayonnaise
  • 4 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil
  • 1/4 quarter cup of your favorite conditioner

The mayo is optional, it does not have a very nice smell once applied to hair, but it is extra protein. You do not have to use the mayo.

Depending on the length of your hair, you may need more than 1 egg. This guide should help:

  • Short hair = 1 egg
  • Short to Med. = 1 egg
  • Med to Long Hair = 2 Eggs
  • Long Hair = 2 Eggs
  • Longer Hair = 3 Eggs

This protein treatment should be done on dry hair before you shampoo with no heat. Apply treatment to entire head, especially the ends, place a plastic cap, do not sit under dryer. Leave on your hair anywhere from 30 minutes to 45 minutes and rinse with COLD water ( hot water will cause the eggs to scramble and cook in your hair) once the egg treatment has been thoroughly rinsed out, shampoo and condition as normal.
