Healthy Scalp for Healthy Hair

In order to have longer and stronger hair you need to stimulate your scalp. Though there are several genetic factors that determine how fast your hair grows or the texture of your hair you can use simple home remedies to promote hair growth. Though there are several hair oils and other topical treatments available that claim to stimulate hair growth most people prefer to use home remedies as they are safe and do not have any side effects. These are natural remedies so you can try all of them.

One of the simplest ways to stimulate your hair follicles is to massage your scalp with your finger tips. Most women prefer to go to a spa or a massage center for this treatment however that is not required. Heat coconut oil or olive oil on the stove for a few seconds and then dip all your fingertips in the oil. Now massage your scalp with your finger tips in such a way that you are applying pressure on your scalp and moving in circular movements. Let the oil stay on your head for a few minutes and then wash your hair with warm water.

Brushing your hair with a wide brush also stimulates hair growth. Avoid brushing with metal bristles as they could cause hair breakage; instead use a brush with natural fibers. Avoid brushing your hair when it is wet; rather brush your hair when it is dry in order to prevent hair breakage. Brush your hair for 10 minutes in the morning and approximately the same time in the night before you go to bed.

Using essential oils like lavender, rose, lemon and nettle on your scalp promote the health of your scalp as well as your hair. You can use the oils on the entire length of the hair, mixed with carrier oils like olive oil, and leave it over night or for a few hours of the day. Wash your hair with warm water after you have massage essential oil into your scalp.

Keep the scalp clean will lead to growing hair. Wash the hair at least one a week to keep a clean scalp.

Tea Tree oil is the best oil for stimulation. Add some to your shampoo or scalp oil. It will do wonders for your hair. It opens the pores and stimulates hair growth.
